Q: Can I get this handle in ivory or light gray?

No, the only two colors currently available are White and Dark Gray.

Q: How do I remove the old Access Slam Latch Handle?

Our replacement Slam Latch has slightly flexible sides that allow a very thin flat head screw driver to be inserted between the Latch handle and the hatch. The flat head screw driver should be carefully pressed inward toward the handle and then lifted up to pop out the old latch on the short end. The new handle can then be dropped in and snapped into placed with careful force. Use precaution to not mar the hatch while removing the old Slam Latch with the screw driver used.

Q: Are there metal springs that create tension in the Slam Latch Handle?

No, there are not any metal components. The Slam Latch Handle has 2 small plastic legs on the handle that create the tension needed for the Slam Latch to operate correctly. If these have broken, the handle will become inoperable.
