Solid well built. Although it was noted on the description, I missed the fact that the attachment plate had to be ordered separate.

I use the Tempress rod holders in my boat, so I like having a couple of Rod Readys as an additional option. I usually use the Fish-On rod holders, but Rod Ready is nice for holding rods that you just want to set on the floor of your boat. Only problem is that I can't find them in stores anymore. I was happy to find them on the Tempress website.

I love them but I haven't used them to fish with exactly. I have extra bases that I put them in and when I bring in my gear I use them to contain my pole while I take off fish or change gear. Very handy.
